Too late.
labelleboheme replied to your post: labelleboheme replied to your post: labelleboheme…Oh yeah application fees, that is a bitch. :/ Well… since you’re switching your major to creative writing, what about UCR? Or was that impacted there too? I mean, since Stephanie’s there and it’s closer to home it might be a good candidate for you?
It would be a viable candidate, except I only want to change my major if it directly affects my chance of being accepted. Psychology is a good all-purpose major (that’s why its so impacted), and if my hopes of being a game designer fall through, my psychology degree could be more useful in a mad job scramble than a creative writing one (Sorry creative writing majors, you know I love you). In addition, I’m choosing schools based on their proximity to major developers. Sonoma is near San Francisco and Silicon Valley, where tons of developers are (2K, Maxis, part of Ubisoft, and parts of EA all are around there), and WWU is about 80 miles outside Seattle, where there is also a good number of developers (Bungie, Valve, part of Nintendo) or 50 miles outside Vancouver, Canada, which also has its share of developers. UCR is not ideally located, since the major developers are mostly in the heart of LA (which is really really really not my city) or San Diego (which is FAR from Riverside).
labelleboheme replied to your post: labelleboheme said: Why do you think Sonoma won’t…I honestly think Sonoma’s going to accept you, dear. Especially since your going in as a transfer and not a freshman. Plus doesn’t it have a pretty good acceptance rate? But yeah I know depending on that one school is scary, so just apply to all of them just in case. But you’ll be fine, I’m sure. If not you’ll find something else that fits you, I’m sure *hugs*
Aw thanks dear. Yeah Sonoma does have a pretty good acceptance rate, and I really shouldn’t be super worried about it. But I am. I just don’t want to apply to schools I don’t necessarily want to go to (possibly wasting the application fee) and then end up having to go there. I’m coming around to the idea of Western Washington, despite the tuition (they aren’t part of the western school deal), but now that UCI is off the list AGAIN (5th or 6th time now), I’m still having trouble finding a third school.

Its not so much that I think they won’t accept me, its that I can’t have “all my eggs in one basket”
Because on the off chance, I DON’T get accepted, my parents have made it very clear that I cannot simply continue taking classes at the JC. I don’t know what they have planned otherwise, but they figure that if I at least apply to 3 schools (currently its Sonoma, UCI, and Western Washington), I’m bound to make it into one of them.
Also, let me point out UCI doesn’t have a writing program at all. The only reason its there is because it is near Blizzard Entertainment, and I know someone who works for Blizzard.
Says you. They’re delicious.
@Missy
I was going to get him a little levitating TARDIS (he’s always wanted one) but its $40. So now I’m looking at other Who things and hoping to find something that will ship in time.
In choir today, Missy, Kimmie and I were discussing Tumblr
And they laughed at my pain. Laughed until they cried.
